Report a Concern | Student Safety & Wellbeing | North Oxfordshire Academy

Something worrying you? You can tell us.

At North Oxfordshire Academy, your safety and wellbeing are important to us.

You can use this page to report ANYTHING that is worrying you, upsetting you or making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

This could be something happening at school, at home, online or somewhere else.

You can report something that has happened to you, something you have witnessed or something that is affecting another student.

No concern is too big or too small. If something doesn't feel right, we want you to tell us.

You don't have to be certain that something is wrong. We would rather you speak up so that we can help.

What can I report?

You can report anything that is worrying you, including:

  • Bullying – name-calling, rumours, threats, intimidation or being deliberately excluded.
  • Online safety – cyberbullying, upsetting messages, social media concerns or inappropriate content.
  • Friendship problems – arguments, peer pressure or difficulties with other students.
  • Mental health and wellbeing – feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, unhappy or worried.
  • Feeling unsafe – at school, at home, online or in the community.
  • Discrimination – racism, sexism, homophobia or other unfair treatment.
  • Inappropriate behaviour – unwanted attention, comments, touching or behaviour that makes you uncomfortable.
  • Concerns about adults – something an adult has said or done that worries you.
  • Concerns about another student – if you think someone else might need help or support.
  • Anything else – even if your concern isn't listed here, you can still tell us.

Remember: If it matters to you, it matters to us.

What happens when I report a concern?

We understand that telling someone about something that is worrying you can sometimes feel difficult.

When you submit a concern:

  1. We will listen. Your concern will be reviewed by an appropriate member of staff.
  2. We will take you seriously. Your concern will be treated with respect.
  3. We will support you. Your pastoral leader or a member of the safeguarding team will help you understand what happens next.
  4. We will respect your privacy. Information will only be shared with people who need to know to help keep you or others safe.
  5. We will take appropriate action. We will consider what support or action is needed.

You do not need to have all the answers. Just tell us what you can.

You will not be in trouble for raising a genuine concern.

When will someone respond?

Our reporting form is monitored during school working hours.

A member of our pastoral or safeguarding team will review your concern and arrange appropriate support.

If you need help urgently, please do not wait for a response to the form. Speak directly to a trusted adult or member of staff.

Remember – You Can Always Speak Up

If something is worrying you, we want to know.

You can report something happening to you, something affecting someone else or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

You do not need to decide whether something is serious enough to report.

We are here to listen and help.

Need help straight away?

If you feel unsafe or need urgent help during the school day, please speak to a trusted member of staff, your pastoral team or the safeguarding team.
