If your child has not been offered a place at North Oxfordshire Academy, you may be able to join a waiting list and you have the right to appeal the decision.

If North Oxfordshire Academy is unable to offer your child a place, you can find information about waiting lists and how places are allocated in our published admissions arrangements.

Being on a waiting list does not guarantee that a place will become available.

Appeals

If your child is refused a place at North Oxfordshire Academy, you have the right to appeal against that decision.

Appeals are considered by an independent appeal panel in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code.

The process for submitting an appeal, including any relevant deadlines and documentation, is available through the appropriate admissions appeals service.

Appeals timetable

If your child is due to start secondary school in September, you should submit your appeal by the date stated in your offer letter. This will ensure that your appeal is heard by July.

For applications made during the normal admissions round:

Appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.

For late applications:

Appeals should be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Please refer to your offer letter and the relevant admissions information for the deadline that applies to your application.

Waiting lists and appeals

Admission to North Oxfordshire Academy is based on our published admissions arrangements rather than selection by ability.

Appeals are considered independently by an appeal panel. Remaining on the waiting list provides another route through which a place may become available if circumstances change.
