North Oxfordshire Academy Bursary 2026-27
Funding is available for students who study at Sixth Form from the 16-19 government funded bursary.
The bursary can support with learning-based costs such as books, materials, equipment for learning, field trips, university open days and admission testing for university.

Students must be logged into their school email to complete the form and upload evidence.
- Evidence must also be uploaded during the application if students identify themselves in Band 1, or may show original copies to our administrator in sixth form within a week of applying online.
- If no evidence is provided to support the application, we cannot process the student's application for the bursary
- Those who apply for the discreationary bursary or In-kind bursary cannot also apply for the vulnerable bursary (LAC students).
- Vulnerable young person bursary, is applied for directly through the government website and the student must provide evidence to support application.
There are five categories for the 26-27 bursary:
a. Vulnerable young person - up to £1,200 per year (depending on need).
b. Discretionary Bursary – Band 1. Those whose household income is £16,190 or less per year. The amount paid will be dependent upon the total allocated to the school for the academic year and will be larger than Band 2.
c. Discretionary Bursary – Band 2. Those whose household income is £16,190 - £20,817 per year. The amount paid will be dependent upon the total allocated to the school for the academic year and will be less than Band 1.
d. Discretionary Bursary – Band 3. Those whose household income is more than £20,817, but less they £25,521 per year. The amount paid will be dependent upon the total allocated to the school for the academic year and will be less than Band 2.
e. In-kind bursary payment – for students with an identifiable financial need to finance education-related costs (for example materials, CRB checks for students on care courses, course-related trips, UCAS fee/travel to open days,exam re-sit fees)
Deadline for 2025 Bursary is Friday 30th September 2026.
