Serious Incidents
The following behaviours may lead to a parental meeting with a Learning Manager, or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. A 1 hour detention may be issued, or the student may be required to spend time in the reflection room. In some cases, the student may be sent home on a fixed term exclusion. Permanent Exclusion may be considered in the most serious cases. Students may be required to offer a verbal or written apology or take part in a restorative meeting. The incident will also be logged on a student’s personal file
- Verbal or physical abuse of staff.
- Fighting.
- Possession or use of alcohol or drugs.
- Bringing a dangerous item into the Academy.
- Maliciously setting off the fire alarm.
- Deliberate damage to or theft of Academy property.
- Smoking in the Academy.
- Bullying or racist behaviour.
- Truanting a lesson.
- Deliberate defiance towards a member of staff.
- Making malicious or unfounded allegations against a member of staff.
