Everyone is welcome to the school library, where the librarian, Mrs Hopkin is happy to help with reading recommendations or homework solutions. The library is a quiet space for students who wish to study, research, read for pleasure or other learning activities. Many students choose to play chess or other education games during break. Independent study by all students is encouraged and the library is open after school every day for homework club. There are rewards for those using the homework club regularly.
On Fridays, the Book Club meet to discuss books. We read shortlists from the Oxfordshire Book Awards (OBAs) and from the Carnegie Medal. For the OBAs, each member tries to finish all the books on the shortlist and then have a debate as to which book was best. Our votes then count towards who is the winning author and in the autumn term we are invited to the Awards Ceremony to meet them.
