Exam Results 2017




Students and staff at North Oxfordshire Academy are celebrating their best ever GCSE results today.  61% of students achieved five or more A*-C grades including a 4 or above in both English and maths – up from 45% last year.

This year, grades in English and maths have moved to a numeric scale with 9 being equivalent to a high A*.

There were notable individual successes, including 7 students who gained the top Grade 9 in maths.

Sara Billins, Principal of North Oxfordshire Academy, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled with these results which are our best yet!  Staff and students have worked exceptionally hard over the past year and these results are a fitting reward.  I am so pleased that so many students achieved the grades they were hoping for and I look forward to welcoming them to our Sixth Form which, as last week’s strong results showed, is going from strength to strength.”

Sixth Form students at North Oxfordshire Academy have been celebrating receiving their A Level results, which saw strong improvements on all key headline measures.

For the academy’s Year 13 cohort:

·         The percentage of entries achieving the top grades of A* or A doubled to 17%;

·         45% of entries were graded A*-B, up from 35% last year;

·         71% of entries achieved A*-C, also an increase on 2016’s results;

·         There was a 99% pass rate overall.
