DofE - Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The DofE is the world’s leading achievement award for anyone aged between 14 and 24. The award is a fun and challenging programme that has three progressive levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Students complete each award by organising a personal programme of activities in four sections:

  • Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community
  • Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
  • Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests
  • Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad

At North Oxfordshire Academy we currently offer the Bronze Award to Year 9 and 10 students in September, which can progress through to Silver and Gold. In the Sixth Form we currently offer a direct entry to the Silver Award at the beginning of Year 12.
